  • Leaf genmaicha with matcha (3 g per cup)
  • Teapot

How to Brew Genmaicha

  1. Adding genmaicha tea leaves into a teapot

    Step 1

    Place tea leaves into the teapot — 1 teaspoon (approx. 2–3 g) per person.


  2. Pouring hot water into teapot with genmaicha leaves

    Step 2

    Pour in 100–130 ml of hot water (95°C / 203°F) per person.


  3. Steeping genmaicha tea in a teapot

    Step 3

    Put on the lid and steep for about 30 seconds.
    For a mellower, creamier taste, try 80°C with a slightly longer steep.

  4. Pouring tea evenly into cups

    Step 4

    To ensure even flavor, pour the tea into cups a little at a time, alternating between cups in this order: 1 → 2 → 2 → 1.


  5. Serving and enjoying a cup of genmaicha

    Step 5

    Pour out every last drop and enjoy the nutty, toasty notes with gentle green richness.
